About Kashina

Kashina Smith, couples counsellor

Hey there, I'm Kashina, a couples counsellor, wife, and mum to five. For the past 21 years, I've been living the reality of long-term relationships—13 of those in marriage—and I understand firsthand how challenging, beautiful, and messy that journey can be.

We go to school for almost everything else in life, but no one teaches us how to navigate marriage or parenthood. It's expected that we'll figure it out as we go. I created Heart of Peace Therapy to change that—to give couples a safe, supportive space to learn, grow, and reconnect, even when things feel hard or uncertain.

I work online, offering flexible, out-of-hours counselling sessions that fit around your real life—not your lunch break. In our sessions, we won't just talk—we'll listen deeply, explore what's underneath the conflict, and give you practical tools and guided activities you can use between sessions to deepen your progress.

Couples often tell me they appreciate my honesty, my openness, and how fully I listen. As a parent myself, I also understand how much parenting changes a marriage—and how easy it is for partners to feel like they're drifting apart in the busyness.

My mission through Heart of Peace Therapy is simple: to help couples build the skills they need not just to survive, but to thrive in their marriage & relationships—together.
